Here’s another remix I did. I’ve been finding that using an acapella track along with one of my beats is a great way to mix a song. It’s a lonely world doing only instrumental hiphop, having a vocal track to work off of gives you much better direction and forces you to keep the track sparse. Anways, without further ado here it is…

I made this beat a while ago, Geometree and Harlem L’s are now lending their smooth vocal stylings. This is a rough draft and I still need to do mixing work, but you get the idea.

So it looks like djchima.com isn’t the only place you can play drum machines online. I came across this drum machine via Crate Kings this morning. Literally AS I was playing around with it the person next to me was playing a Daft Punk drum machine that he had just discovered. They’re both a lot of fun, but let’s not forget who built one of these over a year ago
Granted, this is reminding me that it’s time for me to update the drum sounds on mine

Everyone who uses Ableton Live must know by now that Ableton is planning on releasing Live 8. As a long time Live user I’ve been overly-excited at pretty much all of the improvements that were announced. Unfortunately it is not going to be released to the public until 2nd quarter ‘09, they say.
I was lucky enough to get a preview of the software at the Live 8 demonstration session at The Dubspot in NYC. They demoed the software in all its glory, only making me more depressed at the fact that I won’t be able to use it for months. They only allow a handful of people to test the...

In an M-audio promotional video, 9th Wonder talks about quitting Fruity Loops and moving to Pro Tools for his productions. My questions are 1) does he actually use Pro Tools or is this all for the promo $$, 2) how it’s affecting his production process, 3) how is it affecting his sound, and 4) why the hell didn’t he go to Ableton Live instead?!
